Ralph and I celebrated this year’s Christmas party of Dhaba and Daily Prana, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of fabulous! Held at the ever-classy L’Fisher Hotel, the theme of the night was “Hollywood Red Carpet,” and oh, did we serve looks!
To make sure we were red carpet ready, I enlisted the help of the ever-dazzling Julius Ledesma to do my and Ken’s makeup. Julius, with his magical brushes and impeccable taste, turned us into absolute stunners. Let’s just say, I felt like I could outshine an Oscar trophy (if the Oscar trophy wore a gown and had a dazzling smile).
As expected, the party kicked off with an avalanche of games. Now, Jenneth—Prana’s main staff and my dear friend—assured us these games were “gown-friendly.” Well, Jenneth, if holding balloons while running around counts as gown-friendly, then sure! The first game had us all scampering with balloons, trying to maintain an ounce of dignity in our Hollywood-worthy attire. Spoiler alert: I failed miserably.
The second game was a couples’ challenge—the classic newspaper dance. Naturally, Ralph and I, being the consistent couple in Daily Prana, were the first ones shoved into the spotlight. The rules were simple: dance on a piece of newspaper, and when the music stops, both of you must fit on it. Each round, the newspaper gets smaller and smaller. I was floored (not literally…yet) when we made it to the final round! But alas, physics won. With my current “ahem” holiday weight and Ralph trying to balance on his tiptoes, winning was…a stretch—pun intended.
Only Ralph, Mai, and I represented the 8am yoga crew at the party. I hope next year we’ll have a bigger group to represent us because it’s always more fun when the whole gang’s there. Still, it was an absolute blast! The laughter, the camaraderie, and the sheer joy of the event made my night.
A massive thank you to Master G for organizing such a spectacular event. Your energy and vision brought Hollywood to Bacolod, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s celebration. Until then, I’ll be dreaming of more newspaper dances…minus the balloons, please.
