When I was processing our medical clearances to obtain our authority to travel documents, our local Rural Health Unit’s chief physician told her staff to inform me she can’t give me a coordination letter because there won’t be any travel starting January 8 to 21 due to a 2-week moratorium for Iloilo-bound travel. But I contacted Iloilo City Covid-19 Emergency Operations Center and they informed me that Region 6 Western Visayas is not included in the moratorium!
Why don’t they know that?
The next day I went back to insist on the coordination/acceptance letter after informing them that the doctor was wrong about who was covered in the moratorium but this time they told me that despite the duration of stay in Iloilo (we’re only going there in the morning and back at lunch time), when we come home to Hinigaran, we will be put in a quarantine facility for 14 days!
So we hired an attorney to do the transaction for us! I told the lawyer that during the processing of the travel documents, we were made to fill out a form registering ourselves as Locally Stranded Individuals. And the lawyer said it’s wrong. We shouldn’t have been registered as such because we are not LSI’s!
Now I’m wondering what else have they been wrong about all this time? It’s scary when the people who are given these responsibilities don’t really know what they’re doing!
What do you think?
