Back to Yoga After the Flu: A Rollercoaster Saturday

I finally got back to doing yoga yesterday, Saturday, after a couple of weeks away due to the flu. Let me tell you, trying to channel my inner yogi while still coughing was a unique kind of torture. But hey, I managed to get through the flow, even though I had to pause occasionally to catch my breath. At one point, I had to step out to have a good cough—nothing says “zen” like hacking up a lung.

To my surprise, the usual crowd of yogis was sparse. Dr. Lenchen and Kristine were MIA! But the highlight of my morning was my dear Giselle gifting me the cutest onesie yoga outfit. Seriously, she is the sweetest, and I absolutely adore her! Giselle, you rock!

Because I’m back, we were finally able to shoot a new dance move post-yoga that garnered over a thousand views when I uploaded it as a Facebook reel! The only downside? My absence from yoga felt like I may have lost my flexibility! I couldn’t do the pancake pose! I was so frustrated!

Post-yoga, Ralph and I had our hearts set on Kenny Rogers for lunch, dreaming of Ralph’s beloved Beyond Burger meal. But alas, they were out. So, we pivoted to Modern Shang. Now, I love the food at Modern Shang, but man, their service is a test of patience. We waited nearly an hour for our order. I mean, come on, guys, it’s like they’re trying to see how long they can keep us hanging before we snap.

After our lengthy lunch, we did the usual—small groceries and a Starbucks run. Then, we headed to Petriffic Pet Shop. Ralph’s saltwater aquarium needed a complete reset. When we both had the flu, all his saltwater fish started dying off one by one. We couldn’t figure out the cause. Did the fish catch the flu too? Or is there some voodoo happening here? Either way, it’s been a tough break for Ralph’s aquatic friends.

So that was our Saturday—a blend of zen, frustration, and mystery. Here’s hoping next week is a bit smoother!
