There are local Philippine Bureau of Immigration offices nationwide, also known as satellite offices, but most of them do not have the capability to process important transactions like renewal of ACR I-Card (Alien Certificate of Registration Identity).
Visa holders in the country are required to travel to a place where there is a Bureau of Immigration office that can do such transaction. But we are still currently facing the Coronavirus problem and its new variant. Travelling to another province just to get their I-Card renewed put these people at risk of catching the virus especially those with pre-existing medical conditions. There is also the high possibility of them getting stuck in a place in an event of a community lockdown.
What’s the point of having these satellite offices if they can’t provide even some of the basic but important services for the visa holders in our country? These people spend a lot of money to come here and stay legally. These local branches should be given the capability to process transactions like ACR I-Card renewal. Give them the facility to be able to serve and conduct these transactions.
