Today was supposed to be a day of excitement as I packed our bags for a long-awaited 3-day vacation in Bacolod, ready to soak in the vibrant Masskara celebrations. But a simple text from Kristine Kho shattered that joy. Manang Nevy Natividad Laxa, my dear friend and one of the closest people to my heart, has passed away. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. My heart felt like it was carrying the weight of a ton of bricks.
I have yet to confirm the details, but Kristine said it was cardiac arrest that took her from us. The suddenness of it all has left me in shock, unable to fully grasp that she’s gone. During the ride to Bacolod, I couldn’t hold back the tears, thinking about the laughter we shared, the support she offered, and her resilience. Manang Nevy wasn’t just a friend; she was like family.
What aches the most is thinking about her son, Yven, my godson. He was her whole world, her pride and joy. She poured her heart into raising him, guiding him with love and unwavering dedication. Now, he faces life without the one person who meant the most to him. I can only hope that the love and memories she leaves behind will help guide him in the days to come.
Rest in peace, Manang Nevy. You may be gone, but you’ll forever live on in our hearts. Thank you for all the memories, the laughter, and the friendship. I pray that you’ve found peace and that your light continues to shine down on us.
