A Day of Mixed Emotions: When Things Just Don’t Go as Planned
Today has been quite a challenging day for me, filled with a rollercoaster of emotions and unexpected events. It started with a disagreement with my husband over a seemingly trivial matter, and from there, it seemed like the universe conspired to test my patience and resilience. Let’s dive into the details and explore the ups and downs of this eventful day.
An Unsettling Morning:
My day began with a disagreement with my husband regarding a visit to the local BDO bank. I was concerned about being late for yoga and suggested skipping the withdrawal due to a long queue at the ATM. However, my husband had different plans and decided to wait in line, compensating for the delay by driving faster. Unfortunately, his fast driving triggers my anxiety, which I have repeatedly expressed to him. It’s disheartening when your concerns are not taken seriously, especially when you make adjustments to accommodate your partner’s needs.
A Surprising Yoga Class:
Despite the morning’s turbulence, I managed to make it to the Shophouse Heritage for my yoga class. To my surprise, there was a larger attendance than usual, making it a delightful and energetic session. Master G, our instructor, even took advantage of the opportunity and asked for a group picture, capturing the positive spirit of the class. However, the physical exertion left me feeling exhausted and in dire need of hydration.
Ralph’s Last Dose of Verorab Injection:
Following yoga, my husband and I made our way to Bacolod Adventist Medical Hospital for Ralph’s final dose of Verorab injection. Unfortunately, we faced some difficulties with the triage guard, who seemed unfamiliar with our routine visits. After some confusion, we discovered that all injections had been relocated to the Outpatient Department, a change implemented only the day before. Thankfully, due to the evident stress I was experiencing, the nurses granted us an exemption, allowing Ralph to receive his injection in the emergency room.
Mixed Emotions and Hungry Tummies:
Leaving the hospital, we headed to Ayala Mall, where hunger pangs gnawed at my stomach. The combination of physical exhaustion, unresolved tensions, and hunger left me in a state of mixed emotions. Silent throughout the drive, I couldn’t help but harbor some resentment towards my husband for dismissing my concerns about his fast driving. Instead of expressing my feelings, I resorted to giving my husband the silent treatment as we sat at Kenny Rogers. Believing that he would understand my intentions, I just left my seat to use the restroom without informing him. However, upon my return, I was taken aback by his explosive anger; with him telling me I was rude for just leaving, causing a scene that fortunately didn’t escalate due to the limited number of people present.
Reflections and Frustrations:
Today has been a day of reflection, as my emotions swung like a pendulum. Hormonal changes might have contributed to my overall sensitivity, but it’s essential to address the underlying issues. Moreover, I find myself frustrated with my slow progress on the keto diet, comparing it to my previous experience. It serves as a reminder that everyone’s journey is unique, and patience is key when pursuing personal goals.
As I sit here, reflecting on the events of this eventful day, I realize that life is a series of unpredictable moments, some pleasant and others challenging. It’s crucial to communicate our concerns to our loved ones and seek understanding, even when the day doesn’t go as planned. Moreover, personal growth comes from accepting that not everything will happen at the pace we desire. With renewed determination, I look forward to tomorrow, hopeful for a calmer and more harmonious day.
