A Mini Zoo, a Missed Garbage Pickup, and the Phone Call That Restored My Faith (Slightly)
The day started like a normal vlog at home—showcasing our monkey, birds, and dogs, aka our very own mini zoo. It was calm, entertaining, and exactly the kind of content I planned to film.
Then reality stepped in.
Our garbage was not collected—again.
Living in the neighborhood long enough teaches you the routine: garbage goes out, collection day arrives, and sometimes your street gets skipped. When that happens, you don’t need speculation—you just check the CCTV footage and confirm what you already suspected.
So I called the Bacolod garbage collection team to ask why our garbage was missed once more. During the call, I suggested that maybe next time they should collect garbage at Yakal first, before the truck gets full and the rest of us are left waiting for the next schedule.
Here’s the unexpected part:
They actually came back and collected the garbage—exactly as discussed over the phone.
This vlog ended up documenting the entire experience—from filming our pets, to addressing a missed garbage pickup, to a rare instance where communication led to immediate action.
It’s not dramatic.
It’s not staged.
It’s simply real life—where a casual vlog turns into proof that sometimes, calling the right people at the right time actually works.
Sometimes.
